Fire crews respond to Britcay House, false alarm
Posted Wed, Jul 28th 2010, 18:59(Grand Cayman - CITN) -
The Cayman Islands Fire Service was called out to the Britcay House (off Eastern Avenue) after 11 a.m. this morning. Officials later determined that it was a false alarm.
This is the second false alarm fire crews were called out to at the Britcay House in one week. The building was evacuated in both incidents while crews searched for the cause of the alarm.
Fire officials told Cayman 27 crews they believe there is a fault in the fire alarm system.
Customers and employees for the Department of Children and Family Services, British Caymanian Insurance and other businesses would have been inside when the alarm went off.
