Reporter Trainee

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with excellent communication and writing skills. The Reporter Trainee will learn how to develop news stories, write, shoot & edit video.

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

·      High School Diploma or equivalent required, some tertiary education preferred.

·      Must be proficient in English grammar, spelling and punctuation.

·      The ability to communicate clearly and deal effectively and politely with the public in person and over the telephone.

·      Must be able to work various work schedules including nights/weekends and/or holidays and have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Salary Range: $2,500 - $2,600

Reporter

The General Assignment Reporter will be responsible for generating news content based on sound principles of journalism and newsworthiness. Primary responsibilities are gathering, shooting, writing, producing, and presenting news stories for multiple platforms daily on deadline; and at times will also include producing, anchoring and live reporting. The ideal candidate is a one man band who is able to take initiative and enterprise stories.

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

·         College degree, or equivalent work experience, with a minimum of two years experience as a reporter, photojournalist, or producer.

·         Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment, with strong computer skills and experience using newsroom computer systems and non-linear editing systems. Final Cut Pro experience preferred.

·         Must have good creative and editorial judgement, and mastery of journalistic ethics with strong broadcast and AP style writing skills.

·         A valid driver’s license and good driving record with proof of insurability, and the willingness to work various schedules including nights/weekends and/or holidays.

Salary Range: $3,000 - $3,300

Talk Show/News Producer

The Talk Show/News Producer will be responsible for daily production of the Cayman 27 talk show block. Duties include researching and generating topics and ideas for programme segments, overseeing web presence, scheduling guests, copywriting, and developing long-term strategies for programmes. Will also be asked at times to report, write, and edit news stories.

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

·         At least two years of television experience with talk show production experience preferred.

·         College degree or equivalent work experience with knowledge of the industry and awareness of new techniques and practices.

·         Effective internal and external communication skills are a must with a strong ability to write and edit copy to acceptable broadcast guidelines.

·         Must also be able to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure.

Salary Range: $3,300 - $3,500

Director

The Director will be responsible for calling and punching Cayman 27’s various live broadcasts, shooting, editing, and customising show graphics.

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

·         A degree in broadcasting or equivalent work experience of at least 4 years directing a must.

·         Experience in graphic design, pre and post production.

·         Strong computer skills including non-linear editing systems with Final Cut Pro experience preferred.

·         Must have strong shooting and editing skills for news and other long-format programming.

·         Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment, with strong computer skills and experience using chyron, ADO, and After Effects.

Salary Range: $3,500 - $3,700

Cable Manager

 

Requirements include:

 
  • 10 years working in management roles within a customer service organization.
  • 5 years working in an organization that delivers subscription television.
  • 5 years experience managing groups of 10 employees or more.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, although not required.
  • Track record of achieving measurable results through process improvement.
  • Familiarity with customer information systems.
  • High level of computer literacy, including use of all Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. 
 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

 
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the cable division, including customer service, dispatch, marketing & sales, technical field operations and headend.
  • Ensuring proper maintenance, operation and backup of customer information systems.
  • Participating in formulating and administering division policies, directing and coordinating all activities to develop and implement long range goals to meet business and profitability growth objectives within the cable division.
  • Providing leadership for employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training, and development.
  • Conferring with senior management to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
  • Ensuring all local regulations are followed (safety, etc.)
  • Overseeing the technical development & launch of new products.
  • Ensuring company standards are achieved/maintained in the cable division, including quality, productivity and accuracy of work.
  • Measurement of performance against company goals and standards and establishment of targets for improvements in safety, quality, cost, delivery and needed/requested.
  • Reviewing and approving preparation of accounting analysis for budgetary planning and implementation, production efficiency, financial reporting, budgetary planning and submittal for capital expenditures. 
  • Managing and directing department managers/supervisors: customer service, dispatch, marketing & sales, headend & technical. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of every department in their division.
  • Performing other related duties, when assigned by the General Manager.
  • Reporting to the General Manager.
